Review of the Bladez H914 Jet Indoor Cycling Bike
The Bladez H914 Jet indoor cycling bike is a great choice for an entry-level spin bike. If you’re new to indoor cycling, this review will help you determine if the Bladez H914 is the right choice for you.
Let’s first look at each of the four major components of any indoor cycling bike. Those are:
1. The Flywheel
2. The Seat
3. The Handlebars
4. The Tension Knob
While every indoor cycling bike features these four components, there can be a great deal of variance between bikes. Let’s see how the Bladez H914 Jet compares in each of these four critical areas.
The Flywheel:
One of the areas where you will see the greatest variance between bikes is the weight of the flywheel. A general rule of thumb in indoor cycling is that the heavier the flywheel, the more advanced the rider should be. Experienced cyclists will often choose bikes with flywheels weighing as much as 44 pounds. The heavier wheel provides a smoother ride, but requires greater strength to attain and maintain faster speeds.
Some beginners have even complained about hip pain when using bikes with heavier flywheels at the gym. With a flywheel weighing just 31 pounds, the Bladez is designed with the beginning cyclist in mind. It is meant to provide a realistic road feel using as little weight as necessary.
The Seat:
The Bladez H914 Jet comes with an adjustable seat that can be moved forward and backward, up and down. The seat itself is padded for comfort. The seat can be removed, so if you have one that you particularly like, just switch it out.
The Handlebars:
The handlebars on the Bladez cycling bike are probably one of the bike’s best features. Like most indoor cycling bikes, the handlebars can be adjusted higher and lower so you can adjust them to fit different riders. But the angle of these handlebars can also be adjusted, which is a unique feature among indoor cycles and isn’t an option on bikes even twice the price of the H914 Jet. The ability to adjust the angle of the handlebars allows each rider to really find their most comfortable riding position.
The Bladez H914 Jet also features elbow rests on the handlebars, allowing the rider to comfortable layout in a seated flat position. These elbow rests are another unusual feature of the H914 jet indoor cycling bike.
The handlebars are padded and shaped in a very realistic road bike design that accommodates easy gripping in all positions, seated or standing.
The Tension Control:
Most indoor cycling bikes have a round knob used to dial resistance up and down. But the Bladez H914 bike has a set of flat levers that deliver 12 different levels of resistance. Some users like the fact that the levers better mimic the feel of gears on a real road bike, and with 12 different resistance settings, the Bladez H914 offers a few more levels than other bikes, (for example, the Motus which offers only 8 levels of resistance).
This indoor cycle also offers a brake, but unlike other bikes with a button-style brake, the H914 Jet has standard grip brakes just like a road bike that are linked via cables to the friction pads.
Both the tension controller and the brake and can be unclipped and moved wherever the rider prefers to have them. So unlike most indoor cycles that have the brake located down on the frame of the bike, this one can be moved to the handlebars if desired.

Any Negatives?
One user commented he found the bike seat to be hard and uncomfortable, which appears to be a pretty common complaint among most spinning bikes. But because the H914 Jet seat can be easily changed out, the user found a seat he preferred and made the switch. Instead of changing out the seat, many indoor cyclists purchase a separate seat cover for about $15 to cushion their ride.
